Polished Desert Sunset slab DS180 dendrites ( Almost no pyrite inDS1780 Desert Sunset slab, polished on one side. Dimensions at widest points approximately 150 mm x 105 mm x 9. 5 mm thick. Weighs 381 grams. Desert Sunset is a banded iron formation that is comprised of alternating layers of red and yellow jasper and chert with narrow bands of black hematite. It comes from near Fields Find, a small abandoned gold mining centre in the Midwest region of Western Australia.
