This wine is truly a joy with aromas of dark fruit
but here half of the wine matured in new French barriques and the other half in oak foudres for some 14 months followed by another two months in stainless steel at 10 degrees Celsius
Rich and well-integrated oak though there's lots of spice all the way through
Rostaing acquired over ten acres of very old vines in some of the appellation’s top sites
No trace of over ripeness or the smoke that impacted the very end of the picking
Livio Sassetti, Brunello di Montalcino, Pertimali 2018 Half This wine is truly aReceived in Original Carton 95 Points CellarTracker Member Cherries, balsam, leather, slight earth and plum sauce. Granite as well. Full in body and an uber long finish. Wondrous and with very soft, almost silky tannins. Layers of noir fruit on the palate, ending with leathery spice. A wonderful contrast and is drinking fantastic today. I see no reason to wait nor to rush. Sassetti can almost be decadent, yet they age very well. Drink now 2040. 5 14
