They help prevent contamination in the collection vessel when bumping occurs. When bumping occurs substance in the evaporating flask shoots up and ends up in the collection flask, which is unwanted when operating. This bump trap features a 250ML round flask with upper 24 40 female ground joint and bottom 24 40 male ground joint. With the use of ground joints
