This is a very well-preserved Kriegsmarine EM/NCO’s M41 tropical field cap
it was stamped by the Luftwaffe Pilot School in Oldenburg
1942 (the obituary gives August 31 as the date of death) during the 4th patrol of U-654
International. 10 Eastern European Pre-Second War Photographs Archive measuring 35 mm (w) xTen postcards, nine measuring approx. 88x140mm, one measuring 80x129mm, very fine to extremely fine condition. Six cards feature Cyrillic letters, one is from Turkey, one from Croatia, and two are of unknown origin. Eight cards show one or more officers or soldiers, one shows a passenger ship, and one the city of Monastir (modern day Macedonia).
