Red Tiger Eye is a chatoyant quartz in which the original fibrous crocidolite asbestos has been replaced by quartz through a pseudomorphic process, preserving the fiber alignment that produces the stone's rolling, silky shimmer. The red brown color results from iron oxide saturation of those fibersa natural oxidation process that intensifies
