This lovely French flintlock musketoon is the Pattern of 1777, however dates from the late Napoleonic period of 1810. It no doubt traveled to the Middle East, maybe Turkey, and was modified to take a much earlier Jezail Barrel of high quality measuring 33", which has lovely silver inlay around the breech area. This then increased the overall length to 48 1 2". Brass mounted military weapons in France did NOT indicate
