A 242Nd Infantry Battalion "Canadian Forestry Battalion" Cap Badge Newly Listed killing Captain Norman GIn pickled copper, voided, measuring 31. 5 mm (w) x 49. 7 mm (h), both lugs intact, extremely fine. Footnote: The Battalion was raised in Quebec with mobilization headquarters at Montreal under the authority of G. O. 69, July 15, 1916. The Battalion sailed November 23, 1916 under the command of Lieutenant Colonel J. B. White with a strength of 44 officers and 1,006 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the Canadian Forestry Corps.
