We just received this very rare bayonet out of a large European Collection. Intended for use as a Short Sword as well as a bayonet, this Hirschfnger bayonet from the Grand Duchy of Baden has a 23" single edged blade with solid brass hilt with fluted grip. It measures 28" overall. This design is based on Hirschfnger (Deer Catcher) long hunting daggers in use in the German area for centuries.
