a truly impressive plant
Starting in mid-March (NC)
This is one of the most stable variegated aucubas we've grown
The bamboo-looking stalks easily grow to a massive 3" in diameter and are topped with oversized but typical dahlia foliage
Foliage is most often an ornamental feature with its graceful form held aloft to wiry stalks
Boophone disticha Friller Chasmanthium a truly impressive plantBoophone disticha 'Friller' is a stunning, super frilly leaf form of the South African native amaryllid, from a population in the Eastern Cape, where these super ruffled leaf forms occur. Most Boophone disticha offered commercially are winter growers, but from this region, the forms are summer growing. Bulbs should be planted with the neck out of the ground. This is a very limited special offering of quite old seed grown plants.
