Micranthes pensylvanica Centranthus winter-deciduous Thelypteris kunthii spreads nicely(aka: Saxifraga pensylvanica) From Canada south to North Carolina, bog saxifrage can be found in moist woodlands, bogs, and seeps. The flat, deciduous rosettes are composed of hairy green basal leaves that can reach 3" wide x 9" long. The rosettes are topped, starting in early May (NC) with fuzzy stalks that end in a branched terminal panicle of up to 50 tiny white flowers. After flowering, the rosettes continue to look good for us all summer.
