This helmet looks to only have seen light use in service
The basic form of the existing flag was retained

Style, this is a Mexican produced cutlass, as used during the Mexican American war, which lasted April 25, 1846 until February 2, 1848. It looks a lot like U. S. edged weapons produced circa 1822, but the thumb piece on the grip is distinctively Mexican. It comes with a very nice scabbard, though it definitely looks to be of later manufacture.
