with a fine black outer border with small horizontal black and white bars in the top left hand corner

with minor flecking visible to the enamels in addition to a small chip to the top of the reverse twelve o’clock arm

fine chipping evident in the green enamels on nine of the eleven wreaths

A Rare WWII Parachute Troop Badge Newly Listed Made of wool or otherIn bronze, the obverse bearing a skull and crossed swords mounted on spread wings and a parachute, with two tongues on reverse for fastening, 78. 34mm(w) x 38. 0mm(h), in very fine condition, and rare. Footnote: The troop badge, embroidered for officers and NCOs, and made of metal for enlisted men, could be earned after four parachute jumps. Troop badges were worn above the right breast pocket of the tunic.
