Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised swastika with ribbed arms, overlaid by central double Sig runes, set within a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a raised number 8, overlaid by an inscription of FR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER SS (FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE SS), unmarked,
