This is a wonderful example of The Cross of Honour of the German Mother or Mutterkreuz (Mothers Cross) in gold (1st class, Gold Cross: eligible mothers with eight or more children!). The case is maker marked by L. Bertsch of Karlsruhe. It has the correct gold embossed image of the Mother's Cross with a gold swas (Hook cross) on the cover, and is still fully functional. There are some small tears and deterioration
