This wonderful species is notable for the fact that its foliage colors up in the fall
30" tall x 6' wide clump is adorned with stunning bicolor flowers with red tips and white lips
but since this has not been tissue-cultured
good even in the upper South
the clumps begin flowering in mid-April (NC) with green- and silver-flecked foliage topped with a lemon-scented butter yellow flower

From Illinois nurseryman plant breeder, Brent Horvath, this selection was patented as an interspecific hybrid, but thanks to DNA testing by Dr. Aaron Floden, we now know it is actually a selection of the European form of Polygonatum odoratum. Polygonatum 'Prince Charming' makes an amazing, tightly bunched, heavy flowering clump of 15" tall stems, adorned, starting for us in late April
