Footnote: Hans Ulrich Rudel (19161982) was a Luftwaffe Stuka pilot, the most decorated German serviceman of the Second War, and recipient of the first and only Golden Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds. Rudel joined the Luftwaffe in 1936 as part of a bomber wing. However, he initially had trouble mastering the dive bombing techniques and was seen as
