Original U.S. Model 1816 Springfield Conversion Musket Type II - Dated 1827 and 1862 Japanese Army One of the earliest UOriginal Item: Only One Available. This 1816 musket was converted to percussion in 1862 by Hewes & Phillips of Newark, New Jersey under contract for the U. S. government. Total conversions done by H&P were 20,000.
