The upper right corner of the rear sight leaf is marked R to indicate that the sight graduations are for a rifle and not a carbine
though we did not do any tests to see if it can still feed correctly
and it has serial number 6596 d above the trigger guard and on the barrel
Each lock also shows the East India Company heart symbol across lock tail

The hat has an "ultramarine" cord with "golden yellow" acorns and fitting, the colors for the U. S. Army Air Corps, which became the U. S. Army Air Forces later in the war.
