Description
This is a wonderful example of a genuine USGI Great War helmet from an well known infantry division of the US army
One of the changes specified prior to the start of the first Navy contract was to attach a bayonet lug on the forward band
Both the bayonet and scabbard bear replicated wartime markings
and also it was not fitted with a saddle ring as most were (See Flayderman's Guide to Antique Firearms)
The Regiment suffered the worst losses of any British Regiment that day and inspired Sir Edward Hamly's poem:-\

This is a World War Tow American Model 3 flare pistol in 37mm. It is marked "Columbia Appl. Corp. L. I. C. N. Y. U. S. A" with serial number PT 31292 and MOD 3. Features a brass frame, 8" steel barrel with lanyard ring. The barrel break open for loading, firing pin is still intact and it functions as expected. Overall condition is good.
