Dating from just before the Spanish American War of the 1890s, this is a White plumed Dress Helmet from a Staff officer in the 31st Infantry Regiment. It has an elaborate helmet front plate (badge) depicting a stand of arms, lances and Cannons with the U. S. Eagle over a circle displaying the Regiments numeral of 31.
