This is a fair condition Imperial German Model 1889 Infantry Officer sword and scabbard. The hilt is a gilded brass D shape fold away guard with the Imperial German eagle of Kaiser Wilhelm II, though the entire hilt has lost its gilt and now has a dark patina. The grip is brass wire bound over black celluloid, though there is cracking and the brass cypher of the Kaiser in the center is now GONE. The wire is in rough
