Germany, Heer. A Dress Bayonet, Staghorn Grip Version, by Gustav Spitzer consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac Chief Yeoman Ames has served(Heer Bajonett). An extremely well preserved Heer dress bayonet, measuring 35 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features a 20 cm long, nickel plated, magnetic steel blade which retains factory original sharpening to both the tip and lower edge. A wide fuller runs the majority of the length of the upper edge of each side. The reverse ricasso bears a makers mark of GUSTAV SPITZER, SOLINGEN, circumscribing the firms classic lion
