Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Kuban Shield, Rare Newly Listed He returned to the Canadian(Kubanschild). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse bearing a stylized map of the Kuban region, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by a date of 1943, attached to a dark blue wool backer with all four reverse attachment prongs, unmarked, the shield measuring 52. 04 mm (w) x 61. 14 mm (h), weighing 18. 3 grams, with minor loss of finish evident, in overall extremely fine condition.
