Germany, Heer. An Army-Issued Demjansk Shield United Republic of maker marked "TROPHY CRAFT" and(rmelschild Demjansk). Constructed of magnetic metal, set on a field grey wool patch with a black paper backer, with all four reverse attachment prongs intact, the obverse with a central shield overlaid by crossed swords, a plane, and a date of 1942, topped by an inscription of DEMJANSK and a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 44 mm (w) x 94 mm (h) (not inclusive of backer), in very fine condition.
