Polished Golden Amphibolite slab GA142 quartz OJ129 A slabGA142 A slab, polished on one side. Dimensions at widest points approximately 160 mm x 110 mm x 8 mm thick. Weighs 347 grams. The amphibolite, most likely grunerite , has now been largely altered to hematite, goethite and quartz and it displays a beautiful golden iridescence. Also called "Gold Leaf Stone". It occurs in the Pilbara region of Western Australia on Abydos Station approximately 120 km south of Port Hedland.
