Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse bearing a central raised glider flying over a rural landscape, situated above an NSFK insignia and topped by an inscription of NS FLIEGERKORPS GRUPPE 4, the reverse bearing an engraved inscription of FR FNFJHRIGEN EHRENAMTLICHEN EINSATZ (FOR FIVE YEARS OF VOLUNTARY SERVICE), topped by an award number 592 and situated above the facsimile signature of NSFK Obergruppenfhrer Karl Sauke,
