Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a central raised Kurhessen coat of arms, topped by a forested scene with a city skyline in the background, circumscribed by an inscription of KURHESSEN GRSST SEINE GSTE (KURHESSEN GREETS ITS GUESTS), with a presumed engravers mark of ES K for an unidentified individual or firm, the reverse maker marked GEBR.
