Discovered in Massachusetts decades ago it was snapped up by a well known collector in Connecticut who passed in 2012. This was musket manufactured in Holland around 1777. American colonists who were desperate to acquire weapons purchased this model musket and several other Continental types to add to their efforts against the British. Muskets of Dutch origin saw use by nearly ever faction of the belligerents on both
