This is an unissued Heer tropical pattern overseas cap worn by NCO and enlisted ranks in the DAK and southern Europe
which is also stamped underneath the barrel and on the receiver end of the forestock
The ground echelon sailed from Charleston on 28 May aboard the troop transport
There is also a small maker mark with a [19]16 date
