Germany. A Wound Badge, Gold Grade, Alternative 1957 Version Auction 1883 in Barrow-in-Furness(Verwundetenabzeichen, in Gold, 1957 Version). Oval shaped gilt bronze; the obverse pebbled with a Stahlhelm in the centre superimposed on crossed swords within a wreath of laurel leaves with a tied bow at the bottom; the reverse plain with a vertical needle style pin, sheet metal hinge, and a flat wire catch; measuring 36. 88 mm (w) x 44. 35 (h); weighing 25. 8 grams; in virtually mint condition.
