This is a very good condition, field used example of a bipod for the U. S. Browning M1918A2 Machine gun, as used by U. S. forces during WWI and WWII. This design fits over a spacer at the muzzle of the gun, and is held in place by a barrel nut and tension washer. There were two versions of this bipod produced, an early one with a solid steel central hub, and a later version which utilized a metal strap over the top
