A very Regiment marked modified Krag Ammo belt

and it is used either plain or defaced with a badge or other emblem

Sharpening for use was up to the soldier or arsenal

After the German surrender the 423d and other elements of the 40th Bombardment Wing participated in the Green Project using B-17s as transports along ATC routes from Western Europe

however almost all of the original silver plate is intact over the steel base and is nicely patinated
