A Second War Polish Pow Id Tag; Stalag Viii C Auction George V (5940 SJT: CIn stamped aluminum, 60 x 40mm, poor. Footnote: STALAG VIII C 5284. Stalag VIII C was located in Sagan, in modern Poland, adjacent to Stalag Luft III ofGreat Escape fame. After the Invasion of Poland, it was filled with Polish Prisoners, who shortly after lost their status as POWs and were sent to Labour Camps in violation of the Geneva Convention.
