Turkey, Ottoman Empire. An Order of the Medijidie, Commander in Gold, c.1900 Hold one depicting a decorated Officer(Mecidi Nisani). Instituted late 1851. Civil Division. In silver, a seven point star with clusters of five faceted rays, a crescent moon and star separating each cluster, the center medallion in Gold features the Sultan Abdul Meijids royal cypher surrounded by a Turkish inscription within burgundy enamels, each surrounded inscription on an individual Gold and red enamelled banner, the reverse marked with a Silver standard mark, suspended from a swivel
