This is a Classic British Muzzle Loaded Cannon accessory, an iron GREASE PAIL, measuring 7" tall by 9 1 2" wide including the chained on lid cover. This is all made of thick IRON with a fixed heavy chain link suspension chain on which is attached and trapped the iron lid so it cannot get lost. These Grease Pails were intended to hang from a hook found on the front of a Field Carriage, where it was easily accessible
