The M43 Einheitsmütze (Unit Cap) is a variety of "Ski Cap" and was based on the Bergmütze (Mountain Hat) used by Austrian and German Gebirgsjäger (Mountain Troops) during WWI
and constructed of dark brown leather typical of the WWI period
Not only does it look good but it feels good this gun weighs in at 12 lbs
with an overall length of 40" in its original leather scabbard
The designs were intended to be very mobile and heavily armed
