Instituted 3. 7. 1857 by Duke George Victor. (1890 1896 issue). A silver gilt Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, obverse with an eight pointed black enameled star containing a white enameled medallion in the center bearing a red enameled Anchor Cross of Pyrmont, reverse plain feild, measuring 15. 10 mm (w) x 17. 29 mm (h inclusive of integral ring) and weighing 1. 2 grams, with minor enamel loss, fine.
