Constructed of a light grey cotton wool blended cloth, the exterior bearing a stamped black inscription of ALLIED MILITARY GOVERNMENT PRISON STAFF WOLFENBTTEL, unmarked, measuring 20 cm (w) x 12. 5 cm (h) when folded on a flat surface, a rare example in extremely fine condition. Footnote: A notorious detention centre which opened in 1790, Wolfenbttel Prison was used by British occupation forces to house and
