Constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, the obverse consisting of a black enameled disc, bearing a raised and silvered Der Stahlhelm insignia, situated above silvered oak leaves and a date of 1928, the reverse with a crimped hinge and banjo style pinback meeting a round wire catch, bearing an etched and blackened entry date of 9. 7. 28 and addition number which appears to read 171, maker marked with
