Germany, Heer. A Kuban Shield, Heer Issue Hold overall in gently used better(Kubanschild). Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a stylized map of the Kuban region, topped by a raised inscription of KUBAN, in turn topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by a date of 1943, affixed to a backplate with all four reverse attachment prongs intact, retaining a field grey wool backer and paper stock reverse liner, unmarked, the shield measuring 52. 25 mm
