Henry Stratford Parkes, of Poplar, East London, was 25 when he attested in April 1917. He saw his overseas service with the Egyptian Expeditionary Force, in Salonica and Constantinople. These medals come with 24 copied pages of research, to include personal history and military service, including a card of inquiry from his mother asking for information regarding her son who was
