The result was that barrels were very quickly worn out with overheating so in 1943 it was decided to convert some of these MG 15 Air Cooled weapons to a Water Cooled configuration for ground use
These are almost identical to the WWII issue
which is marked on the end of the cylinder pin as well

Ghost divisions were created in the Second World War to make enemies think the allies had more troops than they really possessed.
