Original German Mauser Karabiner Mod. 71 Converted in France to Uruguay Daudeteau / Dovitis Carbine dated 1876 - serial 2712 MP 40 Awards and DecorationsOriginal Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice example of the rare "Dovitis" carbine, which is a French conversion of the German Model 1871 Carbine. We have had several of carbines before, but they were all converted from the infantry rifle. This is the first example we have had that was converted from an original carbine. The receivers for both were identical, so most likely they were mixed somewhat indiscriminately. This example bears Serial
