This 1816 musket was converted to percussion in 1862 by Hewes & Phillips of Newark
The blade ricasso is maker marked ALCOSO / SOLINGEN in arcs surrounding the firms trademark scales logo
The original leather blade washer is still intact and the brass hand guard exhibits a nice patina and has not been cleaned nor has this sword ever been taken apart
with just a bit of wear and scuffing near the edge
