Before they released their debut album in 2005, the Japanese math rock band toe released the EP Songs, Ideas We Forgot in 2003. In particular, the five tracks were a showcase for the technical brilliance of drummer Kashikura Takashi, who brought the skill of a jazz trained percussionist and combined it with rock energy.
